jCamp 2011 – News/Feature Writing


Students will be able to:

  • develop story ideas into story assignments by evaluating their news value
  • gather relevant background information
  • find and interview relevant sources
  • identify and implement appropriate story structure
  • craft a fair, accurate and complete story with a focus on compelling narrative
  • conduct themselves pursuant to the Society of Professional Journalists’ code of ethics
